Original WWII German M40 steel helmet with its leather liner and chinstrap intact. The helmet shows surface rust, wear, and patina consistent with age and wartime use. The inside features the soldier’s name painted on the rim, adding to its history. Also includes an original German Coin. The liner is dry and worn with some splitting, and the chinstrap is fragile but still present. There is some white chalk-like residue on the helmet; I attempted to clean it, but not all of it came off. I believe this is an authentic wartime piece, but I cannot guarantee full originality or period correctness. Please review all photos closely to judge condition and details for yourself. This is a heavy and historical display piece, perfect for WWII militaria collectors. I do my best to describe each item clearly and highlight any flaws in the photos. WWII WW2 German Original M34 Civil Police Fire Helmet Combat Stahlhelm?? Outstanding example that is in very nice overall condition. Nice black paint finish on the exterior with no dent or dings. Interior is just as nice with the original liner, pad and chinstrap. The liner is stamped size 56 and even retains the original drawstring to tighten. On the edge of the liner it also retains the leather tabs to attach the leather neck cover that you see sometimes. Fine helmet that would make a great addition to any collection! WWI GERMAN M42 HELMET with Chinstrap & New Replaced Helmet Liner. This is an Excellent Condition German M42 Helmet with Very Good Used Chinstrap and New Replaced Leather Liner. The old liner was dry rotted. The Liner is Stamped a Size 58cm (See Photo). It is painted a very dark Blackish Feldgrau. I know that some Panzergrenadier Units in the Panzer Division “Gross Deutschland” and Pannzergrenadier Units in the 116th Panzer Division “Windhunds” wore Helmets this color. The name “GEFREITER STAAT” is painted in white inside the back of the shell (see photo). Note: The Foam Head and Tinted Goggles are NOT INCLUDED with this Helmet. They were used for photo purposes only.
