German model 1934 helmet, issued to Police/Polizei, refurbished for SD service. Nice example m34 Polizei helmet, with stamped out/molded airvents. Not a postwar DIN19040 one, a real, pre-war one. Shell has no cracks, bumps or holes, obvious wear and paint losses. The black semi gloss finish had a matt greenish overpaint at a given time, probably because it was reissued to the Sicherheits Dienst/SD. The liner is made out of tan leather, and in good supple condition. All it’s 8 “fingers” are complete. No visible size stamp on the leather, but fits my 56 (US size 7) and there’s definitly room till a 58(US size 7 1/4). The liner is attached to the helmet by split 4 rivets. Shell has no visible markings, but the molded in airvents, are a clear giveaway of pre-war production. The chinstrap is made out of black leather and is in good condition. Shell has no cracks, bumps or holes, obvious wear and paint losses, this one has been issued and clearly used. Factory semi gloss black finish. The liner is made out of tan leather, and in good supple condition. All it’s 9 “fingers” are complete. The size marking is ink stamped on the leather and reads 56 (US size 7). Shell is clearly stamped with the sitting Lion/DRP logotype, from the Thale factory. DRP stands for: Deutsches Reichs Patent / Pattented in the German Reich. Also a big E is stamped next to it. Thale is known from the ET markings on Wehrmacht helmets aswell. The liner is attached to the helmet by split 4 rivets. The chinstrap is made out of black leather and is in good condition.
