WWII 1938 M31 liner with reinforced aluminum band for M35 stahlhelm. Size 55 for 62 shell size. The outer band is original – but the leather is most likely repro. The strap appears to be original, but shortened and dyed, and with post-war round rivets. Likely a Norway refurb strap. The strap is long enough to be tucked over the brim of a size 62 shell. World war two German helmet liner BAND and leather liner. Made for a size 64 helmet. The band is marked 1942 & ” 64 na / 57 “. The leather is VERY Fragile. Tattered and still oily and darkened from the hair tonic and sweat of a German combat solider! Most of the liner finger lobes are torn and missing. Not suitable for wearing! It still has all the original aluminum liner retaining rivets and the inner felt strip lining. It has the early’ square shaped’ chinstrap bales. Again the leather is in near relic condition. Darkened by heavy use. (not a post war Norwegian refurbished dye job). Perfect for a salty looking battle scared original helmet shell! Don’t pass it up! Real WWII Germany / German military manufacture!

Dug out in Kurland. Dug out in a. Of a trench on positions of 16. Armee, found without soldier. Seems that the soldier has prepared the band for use with his helmet, but for some reason didn’t use it or lost it. Great item, will look great in any WW2 collection. Found on a battlefield south of Frauenburg (Saldus). Left as found, most of the rubber is soft, but not as pliable as during the war. Scroll down to see better photos. Like the previous days the major attack on 23 December took place south of Frauenburg where the 4th Assault Army with 119, 360, 357, 378, 145, 239, 306, 164 and 158 Rifle Divisions stormed against the HKL of 18th Army on both sides of Pampali. The frontline defended by 16th Army was attacked by the 10 Guard Army with 56, 65, 53, 85, 30, 29, 119 Rifle divisions and 7 Guard division and the 42 Army with 2, 268, 256 and 48 Rifle Divisions. The German soldiers defended themselves fuious against this numerical much stronger enemy and was able to hold their lines. The 205 Infantrie-Division repulsed the attack of three Rifle Divisions. The 16th Army along with the 18th Army was cut off in the Courland Peninsula when the Soviets launched their summer and autumn offensives of 1944. It stayed trapped there until the end of the war. After the war, 250,000 German troops trapped in the Courland Pocket were marched into captivity, many were never heard from again. Check my other auctions! All my items are 100% ORIGINAL!
