German WW2 Luftwaffe Dispatch Riders Crash Helmet. This is a relatively rare helemt. Molded, smooth, blackened leather helemt with raised, padded, protective bars running horizontally around the helmets bottoms edge, and another one running from front to back over the crown. Some wear and fraying, Helmet has a series of two sets of three ventilation holes on each side of the helmet and three offset holes in the crown, all of which retain their original screens. Helmet has a short blackened leather visor and extended, blackened grained leather protective side and rear panels. Side panels have extended straps to the bottoms which also serve as a chinstrap. Top inside head pad is missing, Liner is marked 60. What is most interesting is that the inside of the liner is clearly ink marked wioththe maker and Luftwaffe 1937 LBA procurement marking. This style of helmet was fairly common for motorcyclists in the NSKK but also saw service with the Wehrmacht for dispatch riders in the prewar days, By wartime most rider used regual issue steel helmets. There is some speculation that this particualt type of helmet was used by some aircrews as it provided addition head protection inside aircraft where the chance for hitting one;s head on solid surfaces was significant. Very interesting and rare example of a dispatch or motor cycle operators helmet, .

HISTORICAL German Germany WW2 Military Crash Helmet Hat. The helmet shows significant wear and the insides are a little stiff. I don’t think this would barely fit a kid today. If there once was, it has since been removed and replaced with my art. Now, all that’s there, is an eagle holding my art. The one that really has me confused is this one under the prohibited items. Any item that is anti-Semitic or any item from after 1933 that bears a swastika. Does that mean anything up to 1933 is ok then? THAT HAVE A CERTAIN EMPLEM ARE OK. EVEN HISTORICAL OR RELIGIOUS ITEMS IF THEY WERE BEFORE 1933. SO, IS A HELMET A HISTORICAL ITEM? I MEAN, IT’S HEAD PROTECTION, RIGHT? So, you can’t sell a model of an orange car from the Dukes of Hazard because it has a flag on the roof, but you can sell a model of a tank that has a on it. Explain that one to me.
