Up for sale, is this original German helmet liner, dated 1939 and in the rare size of 61 for 68 shells. The leather has aged to a beautiful dark brown, and it’s in great shape. The leather remains supple and is not stiff at all. All nine fingers are present. The only flaws would be that the fingers have shrunk slightly (very common) and the tip of one finger has a tiny split. Also, the rear seam has opened up and the two sides have separated. If a draw string were put in, it would bring the sides together. I don’t see another 68 liner for sale anywhere at the moment, and this one is nice.

Original 1936-45 Time Perio d World War II. Rare WWII Original Paint. German Luftwaffe Steel Combat Helmet with Liner. Rare in This or ANY Condition.. !! Don’t Miss This One…. ! This very rare, pre-war 1936 dated early WW II War time period, This came straight out of a veteran’s military trunk and has not been altered by me in any way….. It’s an actual.. Been there, done that… GI bring back piece of WWII military history.. This helmet is most definitely from very early WWII and It has the remains of the leather chin strap attached. The liner has a 1936 dated pre-WWII type suspension with the markings “J&J” in several places (last photo). Since the helmet liner had original dirt and grunge from WWII I only cleaned a small portion. I did not remove any of these suspension to see if there were hidden markings if there are any….. The new owner may do that if they wish. The combat helmet was the iconic German “look” from 1936 until 1945 even though it was superseded by war time manufactured helmets. If it doesn’t generate some serious interest I will just keep it…. Note : This rare (1936-45) World War II German combat helmet with Luftwaffe markings is in Good condition, has no markings on it and would be hard to upgrade…. This has been worn in the field, obviously. There are several dings and dents, notably on the top, and wear spots on the outside paint (especially where on the top)…. Pretty good for a helmet that has actually been in the field. I can send you a picture of any view or angle. This marked combat helmet (complete) is not a reproduction, was made in Germany and is absolutely original to the period. We will feature many military related items, both memorabilia and historical as well as more recent military items. You will also find non-military items listed which we find to be unique and interesting along with a few things for the girls. Patches may have glue and scrap book paper on back. If they do I will post a photo showing that. I have a very good track record of having done so, rest assured! There is no return on paper items such as books, magazines, etc. If you feel there is a problem just let me know before you leave feedback so I have a chance to resolve any issue. World war two German helmet liner BAND and leather liner. Made for a size 64 helmet. The band is marked 1942 & ” 64 na / 57 “. The leather is VERY Fragile. Tattered and still oily and darkened from the hair tonic and sweat of a German combat solider! Most of the liner finger lobes are torn and missing. Not suitable for wearing! It still has all the original aluminum liner retaining rivets and the inner felt strip lining. It has the early’ square shaped’ chinstrap bales. Again the leather is in near relic condition. Darkened by heavy use. (not a post war Norwegian refurbished dye job). Perfect for a salty looking battle scared original helmet shell! Don’t pass it up! 100% original WWII German Camo Helmet. This is an early Double Decal ET64 helmet (lot 3659) luftwaffe with an early snake leg. I can’t tell if it is a straight leg or bent leg. The helmet is mustard yellow in color with some sand mixed into the paint. The date of the double banded liner is 1938. I added a killer marked chinstrap to the helmet to complete it. The chinstrap is either dated 1936 or 1938, it is hard to tell. It looks more like a 1936 so we are talking a 300 dollar chinstrap as part of the helmet. There are some older paint colors of green and red on the helmet and then inside the dome someone had dropped some paint that could easily be picked out. There is also a name on the liner that says something and then Dreser. Overall cool helmet that was used during the war and not just shelf candy. An Excellent example of an original WW2 GERMAN STEEL HELMET which retains almost all of its original field grey finish inside and out. Some slight surface rust in places but generally excellent. Liner band with original. And never been out. This is marked with an RB Nr and dated 1944. The shell matching with maker & size, ET 64 with batch number 1181 in rear skirt.
