Here we have an East German DDR NVA M56 helmet with a modern Team Wendy style liner pad and chinstrap system. The paint on this helmet is 100% original and in great shape. The helmet shell is a Size II and the helmet with current padding fits like a size 58-59. Very big improvement over the original flimsy plastic liner that clips into the shell. Additional helmet padding is included as shown in later photo. If you are a fan of the M56 helmet you’ll really love this one. This helmet would make an excellent addition to any helmet collection.

East German M56 helmet. Inside Markings, “II”, “8”, and “60”. The original design for the shell was introduced in 1944, but never made it into service with the Wehrmacht. In 1956, East Germans began using the shell with a WW2 style liner.
