A truly untouched beaded M40 helmet which appears to have undergone conversion to a combat helmet at some point very late in the war – most likely for use by. Forces of the Wehrmacht during 1945! The interior has been fitted with a very crude leather liner, with no reinforcement band (hence the deformity in shape) and simply pinned to three cork pieces, as shown. The full-length leather chinstrap, which is again of poor quality, is also retained. The shell itself is maker coded and size stamped’EF64′ to indicate production by. And is lot numbered’74’.
