Greetings from Red Brick Depot! Original German M42 steel helmet (Stahlhelm M42), battlefield relic found near Narva, Estonia – site of heavy fighting between German and Soviet forces in 1944. Condition: Ground-dug relic with stable surface. Paint: Traces of original dark green factory paint still visible. Decals: No decal traces – likely factory-issued without them. Damage: No holes, just rust damaged surface. Interior: Empty shell, no liner. This M42 helmet comes from the Narva Front, one of the fiercest battle sectors on the Eastern Front in 1944. Helmets of this type were used by Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS, and police field units. An authentic relic – ideal for display or historical research. Here’s a rare helmet for sale, in very good condition overall compared to most. These helmets were produced in England by the Vickers Company in the late 20’s for the Irish Defense Forces, and were used until replaced in 1940. The white overpaint was added to these examples for emergency services after that point, like 99% of the less than 10,000 made that survived. The white paint on this example is extremely impressive, with only minor scratching and some minor flaking of the paint on the visor and right side. What sets this example apart, is the original solder on the liner pins, which is never seen on other examples! Interior lining is very nice overall, being mostly intact. 3 of the 6 fingers (1 on each pad) has fallen victim to mice. Liner band correctly marked T. Chinstrap almost perfect as well. Shell has the correct Vickers stamp on the interior side of the skirt. The original color paint remains visible in the interior dome. An extremely nice and rare piece perfect for any collection! Original German WW II M42 Helmet w/ Liner (Finnish Armed Forces Used) ET 66. The shell is a original WW2 German production M42 sent to Finland during or after WW2. The liner is a nice Finnish liner replacement with a adjustable chinstrap with WW2 German styled chinstrap bales. This is a nice sized helmet stamped ET 66 with a barely readable production number on the back of the shell. Very nice condtion, no serious nick or dents, very smooth shell.
