Beautiful WW2 German trophy award. Separately cast, metal helmet and the K98 were soldered into one solid piece. Helmet – 1 5/8″ high, 2″ wide, 2 3/8 long. K98 – 4 7/8 long. Broken off piece of helmet front that starts at where helmet meets the K98 to the 12 o’clock position. Nice condition with patina. Good detail, well made solid piece of a M35 rolled rim helmet and a K98 Mauser action rifle. Helmet and K98 were separately cast with amazing detail and connected. Check out my other WW2 items. German model 1934 helmet, issued to Police/Polizei. Nice example m34 Polizei helmet, in lightweight metal aluminium? Not a postwar DIN19040 one, a real, pre-war one. Shell has no cracks, bumps or holes, obvious wear and paint losses, this one has been issued and clearly used. Factory semi gloss black finish. The slits wich used to accomodate the comb prior the war (combs were mainly removed in 1940 to support the war effort on lightweight metal) were professionaly welded. The liner is made out of tan leather, and in good supple condition. All it’s 9 “fingers” are complete. The size marking is slightly visible and reads 58(US size 7 1/4). Shell is clearly stamped with the BXF logotype, wich can be found on a certain amount of Mauser K98 rifles aswell. It belongs to the Westfallische aluminiumindustrie Junger&Co. The liner is attached to the helmet by split 4 rivets. The chinstrap is made out of black leather and is in good condition. It has the buckle amd prong type of closure.
