This is an extremely fine World War II Single Decal Camouflaged M38 Fallschirmjäger Helmet REPLICA that is in excellent condition. Although a replica, this helmet is a real eye catcher gets you attention when you first see it. It is proper and correct in almost every respect. It is beautifully camouflaged with a rough textured finish and spray painted in green, tan and brown paint. At the lower edge is a single strand of iron wire that is correctly fitted to the shell. The shell is also fitted with the later slotted spanner bolts. There is a weathered denazified Luftwaffe decal on the left that has been carefully painted around. The tan colored leather liner is unmarked, and the blue leather chinstrap harness are both faithful and accurate renditions of the original. All the harness hardware is functional. This is an exceptionally fine-looking example that suits the bill if you are not looking to spend 12K on an original. The helmet is of the type used by Fallschirmjäger troops at Cassino in 1944.

For your consideration is a beautiful WWII German M38 Paratrooper helmet painted in the 6. Fallschirmjager Regiment camouflage scheme. The FJR6 was a unit widely known for fighting in Normandy, with helmets featuring a camo blend of tans and greens, with added wood chips or sawdust. This example is a nice reproduction M38 with textbook FJR6 camo: a base layer of field grey lacquer covered with base tan and heavy wood-chip texture brushed on, as would have been done at the front, with green accents over top. See last two photos for original helmet examples of this scheme. Original paint patterns and shades varied some, so we tried to best replicate the most common appearance associated with the period. The paint is also been aged, along with some aging done to the interior leather liner and straps. Late-war slotted bolts installed. Note, in our opinion this fits more like a size 58, although stamped a 59. This helmet was painted and aged to look totally realistic and would be a great addition to a paratrooper reenactor kit or used for display. Reproduction Modern Copy of WWII German Paratrooper Helmet Good Quality. There are 36 photos, scroll past text to view. The shell I assume was made to look old as part of the overall look. No markings that I can see (I checked around the inner rim for stamps etc). If you look in the gap between the liner and shell you can see white string used to keep the liner in place it’s not what is holding the liner in place, it’s added support below where it adheres to the black foam. Just seeing the clear white string rules out any chance this is vintage (I suppose it could be related to a restoration of some kind but the helmet and liner to me are clearly modern era). I also “suppose” that it’s possible this is an actual issued helmet in a modern era that was made to look older on the shell exterior (but I’ll stick with it being a repro). It’s not easy to see in the photos but under the liner the black foam partially lines the interior of the shell between the shell and the leather liner. Overall though everything seems to be good quality. The straps connect to the shell via the spanner nuts whose faces are on the shell exterior. I’ll give size as measured with a tape the best I can. Shell inner dimensions are 8.5″ wide, 9-7/8″ front to back. The liner interior dimensions are 7″ wide and 8.25″ front to back. — See photos for condition details. — I don’t have a way to arrange for a local pick-up of this item, I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
