Originating in the Ruhr mining region, this model of protective leather helmet became increasingly common across German mines starting in the early 1920s. This particular helmet shell is made from two quarter sections of sturdy full-grain leather, stitched together lengthwise. The seam is additionally reinforced with a sewn-on leather strip. Each side features three ventilation holes, punched and reinforced with hollow rivets. A leather visor is sewn onto the front and secured at both ends with rivets. There is a punched hole on the left side, which was used to hang the helmet. The thin leather lining is sewn on from the outside left, folded over the bottom edge of the helmet to the inside, and shaped into six rounded tabs above a surrounding sweatband area. The ends of the tabs are perforated, allowing a cord (not included) to be threaded through to adjust the fit of the helmet. This helmet is made for a medium-sized head with a circumference of 56 cm. The leather has retained its elasticity. Overall, considering its age, the helmet is in excellent condition, with only minor wear to the curved tabs of the liner. Weight – 390 gr. WW2 German Elite WH Army M35 M1935 Steel Helmet Stahlhelm. The best reproduction M1935 helmet available today offered at a very affordable price. Constructed of 1.8mm thick steel, exactly the same thickness used by the Germans in WWII. Has the correct classic M1935 rolled edge as well as proper hollow rivet ventilation holes. The liner comprised of soft tan (cream colored) genuine leather that, just like the originals, will turn brown with age, in correct eight finger configuration with central drawstring and an M1935 aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated, and size stamped! German WWII Werksschutzpolizei (Factory Protection Police) standard German police style helmet with two vent holes on either side. Original black paint rates at 90+%, with scuffing on the top. A couple of extremely tiny dings on the top of the helmet as well. Factory emblem on front is a stylized KHB or HKB, and is in excellent condition with no loss. Liner and chinstrap are present, and are in excellent condition, showing only a tiny bit of sweat staining near the forehead. No maker’s mark found inside helmet. Liner stamped with a 57 in a circle.
