The is an original pre-WWII German M35 Stahlhelm shell in size 64 produced by Eisenhuttenwerke Thale, it has been restored to 1930s German specs. It has been repainted to 1930s German apple green and fitted with a new 57 liner of the correct era and brass splint pins. It is void of all stampings (maker, lot number, size) as it is an export helmet made for the Spanish Civil War. Was fought in Spain between the. Who supported Spain’s elected government, and the. Francisco Franco, a major. The Nationalists won in 1939, establishing Franco as the dictator of Spain. Franco ruled Spain from 1939 until his death in 1975. Supported Franco by sending aircraft, tanks, weapons, helmets, and military personnel, most notably the. Condor Legion, a German military volunteer formation sent to Spain to support the Nationalist during the war. Both the Condor Legion and Spanish Nationalist utilized German Stahlhelms. Germany used the conflict to test new weapons, tactics, and aircraft, making the war an important precursor to the tactics later used in the WWII. This one had a front bracket but it was later removed, the area where the bracket was can still be seen. The shell also has marks of what I believe might be a result of a poor heating prosses during manufacturing. Germany did not hold export helmets to the same quality control standards as ones made for Germany. Both ventilation holes have a small dent in them. I was not the one who restored the helmet or removed the bracket. The helmet is a slightly greener in person than in the photos.

Original WW2 German EREL Vulkanfiberhelme exported to Chile in 1939 and used by the Chilean army. This model is in 1960s regulations with officer rank displayed on the front. The rank is for captain. Liner is gone and chin strap is broken.

Condition: Ground-dug relic with stable surface. Paint: Traces of original dark green factory paint still visible. Decals: No decal traces – likely factory-issued without them. Damage: No holes, just rust damaged surface. Interior: Empty shell, no liner. This M42 helmet comes from the Narva Front, one of the fiercest battle sectors on the Eastern Front in 1944.
