Stahlhelm WW2 Original German Leather helmet Liner. Showing wear and use, staining. “Salty, ” with some tears, missing bits of leather. Aging and deterioration, especially near edges. Was stored unevenly, folded, and uncleaned, stiff leather that is brittle at the edges. End to end length is approx 19 long when fully stretched out. German combat helmet – Stahlhelm M42 type. Two stamps are present from inside, one is size (ET66) and other is not well readable. There is some white paint left from left side (decal). Lots of original green paint left. Battleground find, near village. In the Island of Saarema (Estonia), probably the battle of Tehumardi. (1944, 8th of October). Most probably belonged to the soldier of 23rd Infantry division of Wehrmacht (later became 26 Panzer division). German 67th Potsdam Grenadier Regiment. Have a good day!

The helmet is stamped Q64 and the lot number is 478 i know there is only supposed to be one decal on a M-40, But doing some research The Quist company did start their M-40’s with 2 decals on their helmet, the Tri-color shows through the paint the other decal is covered, they paint is worn in spots, but you can see the original paint underneath the tan paint, all the paint inside of the helmet it the original green army color the liner has never been removed and is in there nice and tight the chin strap was shortened so there is no date stamped, The liner leather is still pliable but 3 of them are damaged.
