Alright this one is a bit confusing so try and stay on board haha. Shell- the shell is mint with no dents, cracks or any damage at all. The shell is manufactured at Quist and is size 64. Paint- the paint is a bit confusing but it was originally field grey or Luftwaffe blue then repainted either apple green or multi color Normandy camo after which was then re re painted either late or at the end of the war a Luftwaffe blue and also given a sand texture. The helmet had two decals at some point with only the tri color decal remaining. The paint on the pins still bares a apple green color with the Luftwaffe blue overpaint. On the inside the shell is still field grey or a dark Luftwaffe blue and bares the stamp of approval ink Mark in the dome. Chinstrap- the chinstrap is minty and seems to be unissued. The strap is not dated. The buckle still has 97% of its gray paint on it. The leather is slightly stiff but still extremely flexible. Liner- the liner is dated 1943. The band is in perfect condition with no warping or bending. The leather is perfect with both ink marks still on the leather. The color is still bright tan. The liner is a tad dry but far from stiff. This is a M42 with original liner. The helmet over all was painted black then moss green camo blotches added over. Original liner was removed during painting then replace with original retainer rivets but without the spacers. There is a marking on the right side under the vent hole.
