Dug out in Kurland. Dug out in trenches on positions of 16. Armee, found without soldier. Dug from ground, washed some mud away with water and not touched since. Can be left as it is, or cleaned further, but I love how it looks as it is. Great item, will look great in any WW2 collection. Found on a battlefield south of Frauenburg (Saldus). Scroll down to see better photos. Like the previous days the major attack on 23 December took place south of Frauenburg where the 4th Assault Army with 119, 360, 357, 378, 145, 239, 306, 164 and 158 Rifle Divisions stormed against the HKL of 18th Army on both sides of Pampali. The frontline defended by 16th Army was attacked by the 10 Guard Army with 56, 65, 53, 85, 30, 29, 119 Rifle divisions and 7 Guard division and the 42 Army with 2, 268, 256 and 48 Rifle Divisions. The German soldiers defended themselves fuious against this numerical much stronger enemy and was able to hold their lines. The 205 Infantrie-Division repulsed the attack of three Rifle Divisions. The 16th Army along with the 18th Army was cut off in the Courland Peninsula when the Soviets launched their summer and autumn offensives of 1944. It stayed trapped there until the end of the war. After the war, 250,000 German troops trapped in the Courland Pocket were marched into captivity, many were never heard from again. Check my other auctions! All my items are 100% ORIGINAL!

You’ll never see one for sale again! This is the 1st issue M56 (1956) German Helmet Liner with original chinstrap. The original M56 German helmet for the Bundeswehr was modeled after the US M1 helmet with a metal exterior shell and removable fiberglass inner liner. However, in less than 1 year, by 1957, the German Bundeswehr discontinued their use in favor of the M57 Helmet which was still an M1 style, but with integral liner. The M57 shell was made in different sizes, 53, 55, 57, 59 and 61. Whereas the M56 was only made in one size with an adjustable sweatband inside the liner to account for the sizes 53-61 (as seen printed inside this liner). Original Untouched WW2 German Air Force Helmet M40 Q62 Batch#DN 110 with its original Liner and Chinstrap. Formerly it was a single decal but, as per 1943 camouflage Regulations, it was repainted hiding the LW eagle, that still lays under the last paint layer. There’s also the dome stamp, but it’s barely visible, as well as the soldier’s name on liner. The sheep leather liner is still pliable and has a single little damage on the rear side. Zinc coated liner ring marked Schuberthwerke A. Very beautyful LW helmet, rare and rare to find nowadays in this conditions. Original unberührter deutscher Luftwaffenhelm M40 Q62 aus dem 2. Weltkrieg Chargennummer DN 110 mit originalem Innenfutter und Kinnriemen. Früher war es ein einzelnes Abzeichen, aber gemäß den Tarnvorschriften von 1943 wurde es neu lackiert, wobei der LW-Adler verdeckt wurde, der immer noch unter der letzten Farbschicht liegt. Es gibt auch den Kuppelstempel, aber er ist kaum sichtbar, sowie der Name des Soldaten auf dem Liner. Das Futter aus Schafsleder ist noch biegsam und hat eine einzige kleine Beschädigung auf der Rückseite. Verzinkter Einlagering gemarkt Schuberthwerke A.
