WWII German Helmet Liner. This is an original WWII German M1931 helmet liner system. The leather liner is a size 58; to be paired with a size 66 helmet shell. Its zinc band showcases a production stamp by Schuberth Werke, K. Braunschweig, but no date is visible. The leather is very soft and supple, but has been dyed reddish-brown by the Norwegians. This would be an ideal liner system for either an M35, M40, or M42 helmet. Split pins and washers are not included. Use the larger picture option to view all the details of this item. A superb example of a Norway reissue. Early M35, large size Q68. Lot number comes back to DD Luft. Original Luftwaffe brown 1937 and maker marked chinstrap. This is as nice as you can hope to find. All original german parts reissued in Norway post WW2. DD Luft decals are burried under the paint but these are collectible as is and no stripping is required. A winter camouflage paint WW2 German helmet This interesting and desirable helmet was recovered from a site in Norway. It still bears some of the white paint used as camouflage to help hide German soldiers during the harsh arctic winters of Norway. History The Norwegian Campaign was a military campaign that was fought in Norway during the Second World War between the Allies and Germany, after the latter’s invasion of the country. In April 1940, the United Kingdom and France came to Norway’s aid with an expeditionary force. Despite moderate success, Germany’s invasion of France the following June compelled the Allies to withdraw and the Norwegian government to seek exile in London. The campaign subsequently ended with the occupation of Norway by Germany. The conflict occurred between 9 April and 10 June 1940, making Norway the nation that withstood a German invasion for the longest period of time, aside from the Soviet Union. Condition There is no inside lining. The chinstrap is in good condition but has been torn from one end (but could be easily repaired). The top of the helmet features some small holes and damage from war. Dimensions Length – 11″ (28cm) Width – 8″ (20cm) Height – 6.5 (17cm). Original WWII German Helmet used Post War by Norwegian army. Great example decals are very good! Shell marked ET for Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale liner size marked 56 cm.
