German ww2 pepper shaker style helmet, beaded rim size 55 liner, shell made by D. Hale and marked “A”, the chin strap is all there but some of the stitching on the ride side has come loose (easy repair). These were issued to both Fire and Police departments. Most probably this was a police helmet since it does not have the comb which was often removed for police use. The fire model would also have a leather skirt which there are tabs for on the liner but no skirt so again most likely police issued.
