Not to much info on this helmet if looks like it had a bullet or shrapnel hole which since has been patched. It looks to have a winter camouflage on it but I’m not to sure. Very interesting and a nice helmet to add to any ww2 collection.

Rare WWII German Elite Helmet Cover Pea Dot 44 Camo HBT Original Maker Stamped

Item Details: Original WW2 German documented ELITE FORCES helmet cover featuring the distinctive Pea Dot 44 (Erbsenmuster) camouflage pattern. This piece is field-made from Herringbone Twill (HBT) fabric, apparently made from jacket or trousers. Material: Cotton Herringbone Twill (HBT). Construction: Drawstring style closure. Stampings: Interior bears a stamp reading “Schmerz Bannen Handels Betrieb #8060″. Authenticity Clues: The item exhibits the correct soft feel and not the stiff texture of crude modern reproductions. The color palette and weave is correct, with the HBT weave resembling a V shape. Authentic HBT period cloth also has no fabric sheen like new reproductions. Quality and aging of fabric visible inside and out. Given its age, the helmet fit is perfect.
