This helmet is made from an original WWII-era German M40 steel shell that has been carefully restored. The shell was reportedly recovered in the Vinnytsia region, Central Ukraine. Shell: Original size 66 steel shell. Liner: New high-quality leather liner fits approx. 58- 59 cm head. Finish: Matte Feldgrau-style military green. Chin Strap: New leather strap with steel buckle. Hardware: Liner band and fittings are reproduction. Classic M40 characteristics including rolled edge. A pre-restoration photo of the raw shell with visible stamp is included for reference. This is a restored helmet combining an original shell with reproduction parts. You get what you see. I pack things well, nothing breaks or spoils. Here is a neat item from the WW2 era. Has a postwar Finnish or German leather liner and chinstrap that needs a good cleaning. Size 58 liner which is a 7 1/4. In good to very good, used condition overall. No cracks or major dents. Does have a very minor dent on top. Thank you and have a great day!!

Size- Appears to be one size fits most. Helmet is made of steel. The helmet weight is approx. Not sure the origin of the helmet, but the helmet appears to be heavy duty and very well made. With custom painting on the outside, with a white skull. Inner helmet is in great condition. Back screw is loose, but can be tightened. See photos for details.

Has a painted decal (not shown) I would guess is post-war. Has a bullet hole. I don’t know the story behind that. It’s been in a box since the 80s.
