These helmets were left behind after the surrender of German Forces. This helmet has evidence of repainting and has had double Norwegian army decals added. It is complete with the original leather liner and chin strap. The helmet is stamped with the makers mark of E. For Eisenhüttenwerk Thale (Ironworks located in Thale, Germany) and the. Helmet size which appears to be 60. It is also stamped with the lot no. The helmet measures 29.5cm (11 ¾ inches) front to back and 25cm (9 ¾ inches) side to side with a depth/height of approximately. The liner has a circumference of 56cm (22 inches). The helmet weighs 1.38 Kg. The helmet has signs of wear but is in good condition none the less. There is evidence of repainting and removal of decals at some point most likely German decals removed when converted to. The decals themselves are a little worn and have lost some detail. The leather liner is a little worn to the edge with some small cracks/splits but is otherwise very nice. The leather chinstrap is in good order.
