Original WW2 German helmet M42 with original liner and decal. The helmet still has the name of the owner written on the liner – It appears to be written as LT. The helmet and original liner appear to be in really good shape, but I’m not an expert by any means, so please look at the pictures carefully. Not that it adds to the value, but the new owner may want to know the history of this item: This helmet has been in my family for a very long time. My Uncle was in D Day and brought this home (with many other items) after the war. He told us there were piles of them for the taking at that time. He gave it to his sister (my aunt) who really didn’t want it and was going to make a flower pot out of it. I have always been a history buff and was visiting her with my parents when I was about 12 years old. After hearing her plans for the helmet that was sitting on her porch; I was able to save/rescue it from her and her flowers. It’s been with me ever since, but needs a new home.
