German model 1940 Beaded Luftschutz helmet. Very nice and rare example of a model 1940(molded in vent holes) issued to Luftschutz personnel. This one is quite rare, since it’s the biggest German shell that was available at that time; a size 68. Shell has no dings or holes. Or cracks, normal wear and paint losses for a helmet that has been issued and worn on active duty. Original dark blue Luftschutz factory finish. The liner is made out of tan treated cloth, typical ersatz-issue. All it’s fingers are complete and in supple condition. It’s attached to the shell by means of three split pin rivets with their double slitted metal washers, same as the ones issued on Wehrmacht helmets. No size indication, but it’s at least a size 58 (US size 7 1/4) and can probably accomodate a 59 (Us size 7 3/8). The helmet is stamped Q68, so this one was produced by Quist in Essingen. And it’s lot number looks like 13481. The chinstrap is made out of black leather, in good supple condition, with the buckle and strap type of closure. If you have any questions, or need additional pictures, please let me know, I’ll try to respond as quick as possible. A great addition to any collection! Please, don`t pay untill I send you an invoice! Trough the European Union aswell.
