All original Imperial German pickelhaube. Prussian 1915 variant with all steel subdued fittings. The last pickelhaube used by Germany. All fittings materials were switched to steel to save brass and other materials for the war effort, and the fittings were all grey instead of the usual high polished brass so that they would not reflect sunlight. Great condition helmet, one of the best I have owned. Very nicely marked with maker, date, size and unit marked. All original helmet, all pieces are secure and original to this helmet, NOT JUST PUT TOGETHER! There are no extra holes, no replacement parts, no crude repairs. Prussian face plate still has original leather wedges holding it in place. Face plate is original to this helmet and helmet has a nice ghost under the plate to prove it. Has the usual minor shape deformation, lucky only in the rear, which is the case in almost all of these old leather helmets due to drying out over the years. There is no shape deformation to the front of the the helmet and it displays beautifully, and if you wish to completely correct the shape, it can be done using a hat mold. About an inch of loose stitching on one side of rear visor, but visor is still very secure. The kokards are original but have been repainted. Overall an excellent and all original example of the classic Imperial German pickelhaube. You will not be disappointed with this one!
