WW2 German M40 Camo Heer Helmet for sale. Size Q64 and named “Röhrs” on rear skirt. The camouflage paint of this helmet was clearly hurriedly applied in field as many paint drips are present. Great patina and just the concept of field urgency (not having enough time to allow the camouflage paint to dry before regrouping on the frontlines) emphasizes the day-to-day realities, and hurried nature of the frontline soldier, Röhrs, that wore this helmet. I have not seen a wartime camo helmet that features paint drips like this before, exhibiting a’frozen in time’ aesthetic that encapsulates the frenetic nature of frontline warfare. If you collect camo helmets, this is a particularly unique example.
