Here we have a very nice WWII German Model 1942 helmet that is complete with liner and original chinstrap. The exterior of the shell is painted with the regulation dark gray/green paint and never had a decal applied. There is a slight indentation at the rear dome of the exterior that appears to be a bullet crease, and which caused the rear rivet to become slightly lose. The cream-colored leather liner is pliable, with no damage to the fingertips and ink stamped with the size, 58. It still retains the original fingertip string. Written in ink on the rear part of the liner is the original owners initials, A. The chinstrap is original, complete, full length and unmarked at the tip. The short strap with the buckle on the right side has some sort of a string repair that is completely original to the helmet and is most definitely wartime done by the owner. The rear skirt is with the manufacturers code, ET 63 indicating a size 63 helmet shell and manufactured by the Eisenhattenwerke in Thale. The lot number, 3576 is stamped below the manufacturers mark and size. A great-looking helmet in excellent, untouched condition.
