This is a fine World War II German Model 1940 Army Helmet that is in very good condition. The exterior of the shell is with the original dark gray/green painted finished. The interior of the left-hand skirt is marked with the manufactures code, Q for the firm of F. Quist Metallwarenfabrik in Esslingen and the centimeter size, 62. The lot number DN 148 is incised on the interior of the rear skirt. Painted in white on the interior of the rear skirt is the original owners name, Gefr. There are no dents, cracks or other damage to the shell. The interior has a complete leather lining that remains soft and pliable, with all the fingers undamaged and intact. The dome string at the fingertips and chinstrap are not present. The liner retaining rivets are factory tight and secure the lining tightly in the shell.
