ORIGIANL WW2 real genuine GERMAN WW2 M42 HELMET. THE HELMET IS A M40 model 1940. NONE DECAL AS PER REGULATIONS AT MID WAR POINT , IT HAS HAD A OVER PAINT FOR RE ISSUE , INNER LINER IS TIGHT TO SHELL AND ORIGINAL TO HELMET , WITH THE DRAW STRING AND SIZE 58 CM SO MEDIUM SIZE. NO DENTS OR BATTLE DAMAGE. I can not see a maker code or shell size and only part of number on back of skirt they been covered over with the thicker 2nd coat of re issue paint. Very nice looking late war helmet- shows some wear and use, a couple of the leather liner fingers are torn. Dome stamp still present. Marked on rim CKL 64 and heat lot number looks like 4739 (see pics) A nice original un-messed with WW2 German combat helmet that came right from the veterans estate. Please see photos for condition. There are manufacturers numbers under second paint. Original paint was black, converted to medic use later in war. The Germans were champions of reuse of old equipment, even using helmets from WW1.
