Offered today is a lovely example of a Second World War German Model 1942 (M42) steel helmet. This helmet retains its original liner but is missing its chinstrap. Please note the crack and small dent to the helmets shell as well as the bending which has occurred on the liner band in the spot where the shell is cracked. I do not believe this helmet has been disturbed within recent years and would feel comfortable saying this damage occurred during the World War Two period, possibly in combat. This helmet comes to me from the relative of the Mexican-American veteran who brought it home to Michigan as a souvenir of his service. This is a very nice helmet, the leather of which is in good and not dried out condition. Please read before purchasing.
