Original WW2 German M40 Heer SD Helmet Withliner (NS68)
Original WW2 German M40 SD helmet with liner. Shell exterior retains most of its original paint. The liner is original to shell along with rivets, there is dust and dust balls between the liner band and shell. The leather shows a dark red stain which also shows shrinkage. I do believe it’s dried blood, possibly a KIA or at the very least badly wounded. Low production #DN25 and NS68 size stamp. Adler appears burned turning it a reddish color. If you want an original non messed with helmet to display or as an investment here is one for your consideration. I will be happy to answer questions or provide more photos. It has smoother sides and is made of high-quality steel. Much later, somewhere around the 60s, the Germans began to make helmets and paint them white.
