Welcome to the Red Brick Depot! Original WWII German M35 steel helmet, heavily corroded battlefield relic condition. This piece was recovered near Tartu, Estonia, a region that saw intense fighting on the Eastern Front. Significant corrosion and heavy metal loss throughout the shell, with multiple large and small perforations caused by long-term ground exposure. Original paint remains visible in areas, showing traces of field-grey. Some rust flaking and pitting present across the surface. Remnants of the original aluminium liner still present inside the shell, along with part of the liner band and one chinstrap bale. The helmet retains some rivets in place. No visible maker or lot number due to corrosion. Historical Context: The M35 Stahlhelm was the first helmet design adopted by the Wehrmacht at the start of World War II, featuring a rolled edge and high-quality steel construction. This relic was found in the Tartu area of Estonia, a location of heavy German-Soviet clashes during 1944. ?
