Estate find in PA: This is an incredible find! If you were a Philadelphia Flyers fan in the 70’s you might remember “Schultz’s Army”. They were a dedicated group of fans that wore German WWII helmets to games in support of Dave “The Hammer” Schultz. He was the enforcer on the team and a fan favorite. This is a home made flyers colored / logo helmet from that fan base. This is a real German WWII (this is what i was told, i believe it to be true but cannot verify it) helmet made of sturdy metal. The orange paint and black & white logo were painted on by a member of “Schultz’s Army”. The helmet was worn at home games during the Flyers last Stanley Cup winning teams in the early 70’s. This is a one of a kind find. There is no other like it. What an amazing piece of Flyers memorabilia from their only Stanley Cup winning teams. The “Broad Street Bullies” as they were known were led by #8… The one and only Dave “The Hammer” Schultz! Check out the last picture with Dave wearing a similar helmet. All of the facts regarding this helmet are left for you to decide. I wholeheartedly believe them! The helmet measures approximately 11″ in length and 8.25″ across the bottom and 7 deep.
