Bukrin bridgehead – one of the bridgeheads on the western bank of the Dnieper River, in the area of Velikiy Bukrin (80 km southeast of Kiev), captured in September 1943 by the troops of the Voronezh Front Army General N. Vatutin during the Battle of the Dnieper in 1943… Soviet troops were opposed by parts of the northern flank of the 8th Field Army of the Wehrmacht.
