For sale is this mysterious and charming M40 helmet from Eisen Hüttenwerke thale in size 64. The helmet’s production lot is No. 1380, which was delivered to the Luftwaffe. The helmet’s liner is branded B & C Litzmannstad 1943 (Biedermann und Czarnikow Litzmannstadt, ód in Poland). This is one of the helmets that was found forgotten at a warehouse in Tana in Finnmark-North Norway, along with several other helmets. Tana is located not far from Finland and Russia. During the war, the helmet has been in German service on the Northern Front. After the war, it has been used by the Varanger Battalion for a short period. In different light angles, the shell has spectacular shades and hues. The helmet has not been restored, except that a thin layer of overpainting from the 40s has been removed. The shell has dark hues in contrasts and some areas with little paint. The leather is gone, but the inner liner is original. The long chin strap is unmarked, the short one has been reproduced and put on recently. A collectible helmet with a lot of history from a whole decade. The helmet has been revived after more than 70 years of dormancy. Sends from Norway to recipients all over the world.
